Privacy policy
This policy covers trufflefox.com. Each of our directory websites has its own privacy policy, which covers the listings and anything you send through that website.
Who we are
TruffleFox is run by Richard, a sole trader in Australia (ABN 50 266 506 282). He is responsible for the personal information described here. For anything about this policy, email [email protected].
What we collect
When you visit the website
Our web server records each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page asked for, the address of the page that linked to it and your browser type. We use these records to keep the website secure and to find faults, and they are deleted after about five weeks.
The website has no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Two outside services are involved in loading the page:
- Cloudflare carries traffic to the website and protects it from attacks. It processes your IP address to do this and may set a short-lived security cookie if your connection looks automated.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. Your browser fetches them from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details. Google says it does not use this to build profiles.
When you use the contact form or email us
We receive your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message, plus your IP address, browser type and the time you sent it. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the form is being filled in by a person, and Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details for that check.
We use what you send only to read and answer your message. Messages are kept for 12 months and then deleted, unless an ongoing conversation needs them for longer. We do not sell your information, add you to a mailing list or pass your message to anyone else without your agreement.
Team sign-in
The /admin/ area is for the TruffleFox team only. Signing in uses Google and sets one cookie that keeps a team member signed in for 12 hours. Visitors never need it.
Where it is held
The website, its records and our email run on our own server, hosted by Interserver in New Jersey, United States. We run TruffleFox from Australia. Information is only reached by the TruffleFox team and the hosting provider that runs the server.
Why we may use it (UK and EU visitors)
Server records and the security check rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the website safe and working. Contact messages rely on our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us, or on steps you ask us to take before working with us.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected] and we will reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm the request comes from you.
If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or the data protection authority in your EU country.
Businesses on our directories
TruffleFox itself does not list businesses. Listings live on each directory and are covered by that directory's own privacy policy, which explains where the details come from and how a business can correct or remove its listing. The links for each directory are under For businesses.
Changes
If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page before the change takes effect. This version took effect on 25 October 2026.
